Shadow AI · undeclared tools

AI is lurking in the shadows of your company.

Personal ChatGPT tabs, meeting transcribers, and browser extensions can quietly reach company files and conversations, with no one in IT ever approving them.

  • Personal AI accounts
  • Unmanaged meeting bots

Privacy Policy

Effective October 8, 2026

This policy explains what Noventech collects when you use this website, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers this site only, not the services we provide under a client agreement.

What we collect

Information you type into a form. We only receive what you choose to submit:

  • Handbook download: your work email address.
  • AI Policy Builder: your name, work email, organization, industry, and organization size, your answers to the builder's questions, and a copy of the policy it generates.
  • Automation Checker: the task you describe and your answers are processed in your browser. If you ask us to review it, we receive your name, work email, company, optional phone number, the task, and your answers.

Anonymous usage statistics. We use Umami analytics to count page views and button clicks. For some visits, Umami also records how the page is used, such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse movement, so we can see where the site is confusing. Anything typed into a form is hidden before it leaves your browser, and the sections that show your generated policy or results are not recorded. Recordings are deleted after 30 days. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect names or email addresses, and does not follow you across other websites. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, neither the analytics nor the recording runs.

Information kept in your own browser. The site remembers your motion preference and, after you submit a form, your email, name, and company, so you don't have to type them again. This is stored in your browser's local storage, not on our servers. Clearing your browser data removes it.

How we use it

  • To send you what you asked for, such as the handbook link or a copy of your generated policy.
  • To follow up about AI governance, automation, or data services. After a handbook download, Vince may follow up once. If you'd rather not hear from us, reply to any email or contact us below, and we'll stop within 10 business days.
  • To understand which pages and tools are useful, using the anonymous statistics described above.

We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not add you to a newsletter unless you sign up for one.

Who we share it with

Form submissions are sent by email from our web host to our business inbox. Our hosting and email providers process that information on our behalf. We don't share it with anyone else, except when the law requires it or to protect our rights.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiries and the related email correspondence for as long as they're useful for our business relationship with you, and delete them sooner if you ask.

Your choices

You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it by emailing Vince.Davis@Noventech.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is for businesses and public-sector organizations. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be noted on this page.
